Hi Michael. I was surfing around and come upon your site. I appreciate all the hard work you've done here. A couple comments. I totally agree the ole King Lincoln is not quite the god-like figure he's made out to be. There's no question in my mind, that's he the most inaccurately mythologised president in US history. There's not even a close second. While I can certainly understand Boothe's motivation for shooting Lincoln in the head (who doesn't want to shoot a tyrant?), this assasination is part of the reason Lincoln's life has taken on a fantasy-land rendition. We can only speculate how the media, politicians, and academia would have recorded the history of the despot Lincoln if he lived out his life instead of being killed on the job.

Again, appreciate the website. I'll check in again soon !
